Keyboard shortcuts

Dockli maps the File Explorer shortcuts you already know onto your Microsoft 365 files. Here is the full list, grouped by what it does.

Last updated: July 2026

Dockli mirrors the keyboard shortcuts you expect from Windows File Explorer, so working with SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive files feels native. Shortcuts fire only in the active pane (see Active-pane behavior) and are ignored while you’re typing in a text box.

Clipboard

ActionShortcut
Copy the selectionCtrl + C
Cut the selectionCtrl + X
PasteCtrl + V

Copy is always allowed; Cut requires move permission on every selected item. Paste accepts either files from the Windows clipboard or items you copied or cut inside Dockli.

Selection

ActionShortcut
Select all items in the current viewCtrl + A
Move the selection down one row Arrow Down
Move the selection up one row Arrow Up

Arrow keys move a single selection through the list and keep the highlighted row scrolled into view.

File actions

ActionShortcut
Open / drill into the selected itemEnter
Rename the selected file or folderF2
Delete the selectionDelete

Enter opens a file in its app or browser and drills into a folder. F2 and Delete apply to files and folders only, and are silently ignored when a selected item is read-only.

ActionShortcut
Go backBackspace  or  Alt +

Both routes share the same history as the toolbar Back button.

ActionShortcut
Focus the search boxAlt + S

Alt + S jumps your cursor into the search box from anywhere in Dockli.

Dialogs and menus

ActionShortcut
Close a menu or dialog / cancel the current actionEsc

Active-pane behavior

Dockli can show two panes side by side (split view). To avoid a single keystroke firing in both places at once, shortcuts only act in the active pane — the one you last clicked into. An inactive pane ignores the keystroke entirely.

Click first, then type

Working in split view? Click the pane you want to act on before using a shortcut. A Ctrl + V always pastes into the active pane, never the other one.

Shortcuts pause while you type

When the focus is in a text box — search, rename, a metadata field or the Ask Dockli composer — file-grid shortcuts stand down so keys like Backspace and Delete edit your text instead of your files.
