Dockli is licensed per seat, per month, in two plans. Both are the same app — the difference is whether Ask Dockli, the built-in AI assistant, is switched on for a seat.
- Essential — your entire Microsoft 365 file estate, natively in Windows File Explorer.
- Spark — everything in Essential, plus Ask Dockli for scoped chat, dictation, natural-language search and document diff.
Seats are assigned through a Microsoft Entra security group, so you can mix plans across your organization and move people between them at any time. See Per-seat licensing for how assignment works.

Everything in Essential, then more
Spark is a strict superset of Essential — every file capability is identical. Spark simply turns on Ask Dockli and priority support on top. Nothing is removed when you move up, and nothing is added to your files when you move down.
Every plan includes
No matter which plan a seat is on, you always get:
- All Microsoft 365 workloads in one tree — Hub Sites, SharePoint sites, the SharePoint behind Teams, and personal OneDrive, browsable from File Explorer.
- Version history and restore without opening a browser.
- Inline metadata editing for supported SharePoint columns — see Supported column types.
- Favorites, folder colors and a recycle bin.
- Cross-site and cross-tenant copy/move, within the batch limits in Limits and specifications.
- A per-user install with no admin rights and silent auto-updates — see Installing Dockli.

Monthly or annual
Both plans can be billed monthly or on an annual commitment. The annual plan is a 12-month commitment at a lower per-seat monthly rate — still billed monthly, saving roughly two months’ cost (≈ 17–18%; the exact percentage per plan is shown on the pricing page). The per-seat capabilities are identical either way; only the term and price change.
